88th Legislature State Laws & Rules Update On-Demand

Chief Appraiser Ethics On-Demand

Beginning January 1, 2015, all Chief Appraisers must complete 2 hours of continuing education falling in the “Ethics-Chief Appraiser” category to renew their Appraiser (RPA) registration. These sessions satisfy that requirement.

Cyber Security Training On-Demand

This course meets the requirements of Texas Government Code 2054.519 and is certified by DIR. Section 2054.5191 requires state and local government employees and officials who have access to a local government computer system or database, to complete a certified training program. The statute also requires state government contractors to complete a certified training program.


We have joined with Mark Wise of BIS Consulting to bring you this one hour long course which is full of easy steps that everyone can use to stay cyber safe. They use real world examples to make the course relevant for everyone in the workplace. The training is fun, practical and memorable so attendees will be prepared if they end up face to face with a cyber security issue. Taking this course will certify you in the 2023/2024 reporting period which ends August 31, 2024.

Orientation to the TPTS On-Demand

This workshop was developed primarily for property tax professionals who are not required to register with TDLR or are not required to take any of the core classes but still need property tax system education. It provides students with an overview of the complete property tax cycle through a discussion of the property tax calendar.

Property Tax Math Workshop-Appraisal -On-Demand

The goal of this continuing education workshop is to refresh or resurface math skills you may have learned in the past and apply those skills to common appraisal tasks. Following this workshop you should be able to take the problems presented and continue working and applying the formulas offered to regain confidence in your work.

Property Tax Math Workshop-Assessment -On-Demand

Working through Chapters 26 through 34 of the Tax Code, this workshop will address the calculations used during the Assessment and Collection phases.  Calculations will include: working with tax rates, calculation of a tax bill, percentages of increase/decrease, pro-ration of taxes, back-assessments, disbursements of sale proceeds, deferrals, penalties and interest, and ceilings.

Public Funds Investment Act Training On-Demand

RPA Course Material Review On-Demand

The RPA Course Material Review is designed to give students, preparing for the state level exams, a condensed review of the relevant course material. This material encompasses PTEC material relevant to both the RPA Class III and IV exams. 

Students should already be familiar with all of the material. This course is designed to reinforce what the student already knows and not teach the material. It is intended to be a refresher for the concepts covered in the certification courses for the RPA license.

We encourage you to schedule your PSI exam ahead of time, so that you can plan to test as soon as possible after taking the review. This will give you the best testing outcome. 

Course Length: 15 hours

CE Credit: This course is not approved for continuing education credit.

USPAP Refresher On-Demand

Each Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) is required to take this half-day workshop once every two years to meet Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) continuing education requirements. This material is updated consistent with the ASB updates to USPAP. The new edition of USPAP became effective January 1, 2024 and unlike previous editions, it will not have an end date.
