Randy Riggs, CPA, PCC
TAAO Member since 2013

Randy has served TAAO on the board as the Region 9 representative, as the chairman of the bylaws committee, and currently serves as the chairman of the Audit committee.  He has also served as president of the Central Texas Chapter.  Randy is currently the Tax Assessor-Collector for McLennan County.  A graduate of Baylor University with a BBA majoring in accounting, Randy is a Certified Public Accountant serving on numerous boards and commissions locally and nationally.  He is on the boards of the Tax Assessor-Collectors Association, the Texas Association of Counties, the Texas School Assessors Association, and the Texas Association of Regional Councils formerly serving as president.  In January 2020, Randy was appointed to the Property Tax Administration Advisory Board by Comptroller Glenn Hegar.  Before being elected as Tax Assessor-Collector, Randy served on the Waco City Council.  As a councilmember, he served on the Texas Municipal League board, the Governmental Accounting Standards Board Advisory Council, and as the chairman of the Finance committee for the National League of Cities.  A fun fact about Randy is that he is a trumpet player and is a charter member of the Waco Jazz Orchestra.  He is married and has four daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandsons.
